Acupuncture is a growing choice for the treatment of acute or chronic pain and successfully treats a wide variety of ailments. Its success is backed by its popularity: Over two million acupuncture treatments are given in the UK each year, and that number is growing.
More and more people are turning to acupuncture as a safe alternative to increasing their energy and improving overall well being or to complement Western medical treatment.
Acupuncture is successful in promoting natural fertility and preparing the body for pregnancy and birth. Whether you are planning to conceive naturally or through assisted conception, Acupuncture can help.
Bowen Technique
• Therapist who provides this service: Kevin Leong
The Bowen Technique is a dynamic series of gentle and calming moves over muscles and tendons along the whole body. The technique encourages the body’s own healing resources to achieve balance and harmony. Achieving balance, energy flows are stimulated. The treatment consists of small cross-fibre moves at specific locations over muscles, tendons and ligaments on the body which are gentle and relaxing.
Our bodies are finely tuned structures and it takes very little to upset this balance. Bowen enables the body to re-balance and restore. It produces an integrated body response and consequently improves circulation, lymphatic and venous drainage, the assimilation of nutrients and elimination of toxins. Many conditions can successfully be treated using this technique including back pain, sciatica pains, accident and sport injuries, frozen shoulder, RSI, Tennis Elbow, migraines, headaches, acute and chronic fatigue, asthma, hayfever, digestive problems and stress and tension.
The therapy is subtle and gentle so can be used on patients of all ages, including new born babies, elderly people and people in fragile conditions.

This therapy is highly effective in alleviating a variety of problems including digestive problems, headaches & migraines, depression, emotional distress, fertility issues, physical pain, particularly in the back and neck, and respiratory problems. It is also excellent with TMJ syndrome. It will often work on ongoing body restrictions, that have not previously responded to treatment.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
• Therapists who provides this service: Sharon Simpson and John Sammers
EFT is a technique that can alleviate many different problems by fingertips tapping on acupressure points of the face, hands and body. It is believed that the cause of negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system. When emotional upsets are experienced, the body stores the memory away in the subconscious mind which can be triggered by any kind of similar situation. EFT works by liberating the emotion attached to the negative experience. This alleviates symptoms and alters the way you feel towards your memory.
The technique is simple, quick and can be easily learnt by the patient and can be used independently. It can be applied to a variety of problems, mental, physical, emotional, phobias, stress, anxiety, addictions, pain relief and effects of traumas.

Herbal Medicine
• Therapist who provides this service: Paul Michael
Herbal medicine is the oldest form of medicine. The modern herbalist uses knowledge that has been passed down for thousands of years in conjunction with scientific research, thus offering more effective treatment. Herbal medicine can be used alone or, where relevant, in conjunction with conventional medication to treat a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. Indeed, herbal medicine works well in the treatment of many chronic conditions that are difficult to treat by other means.
Herbal medicine aims to treat the cause of ill health, thus bringing about a better quality of life. By looking at underlying deeper seated problems, such as metabolic, endocrine (hormonal) and nervous system dysfunctions, an attempt to restore balance to an individual is made. If only the symptoms of the disease are treated, the problem is never resolved. Herbal medicines are given either in the form of a tea or as a concentrated liquid which is usually taken two or three times daily. Capsules and tablets as well as creams or lotions may be prescribed depending on the patient and the condition treated.
Herbal medicine can be used alone, or alongside conventional medicine to treat both acute and chronic conditions.
What is Endobiogenic Medicine?
Endobiogenic Medicine was developed by two imminent French doctors, Christian Duraffourd and Jean-Claude Lapraz over a lifetime of intensive medical practice. It focuses on the role of the endocrine (hormonal) system as the manager of the body and looks at the endocrine and nervous system dysfunctions in relation to disease. In the words of Dr Lapraz ‘the endocrine system is the true manager of the body because it is the only system which manages its self and all the other systems’. Using this approach the root of the problem can be treated rather than just the symptoms.
Homeopathy
• Therapists who provide this service: Bobby Fox and Dr Irfan Molvie
It is an effective system of healing which encourages the natural tendency of the body to heal itself; it recognises that all symptoms of ill health are expressions of disharmony within the whole person and that it is the patient who needs treatment not the disease.
The Homeopath is challenged to find the medicine remedy specific for their individual patient to stimulate the body’s own healing power. Homeopathic remedies acts as a stimulus to help heal the body if the healing process is slowed. Patients are interviewed fully about their medical history, state of mind, symptoms and family history in order to find the correct remedy.

Common forms of correcting the imbalances involve the use of magnets, homeopathic or flower remedies, light, colour, sound, touch or thoughts.
You do not have to be ill or have obvious problems to benefit from kinesiology. You may simply want to find out your most effective and appropriate type of exercise, diet, sleep pattern or the most suitable type of work for you.

Osteopaths consider the patient from a mechanical, functional and postural viewpoint to allow the body to function with the minimum of wear, stress and energy. Osteopathy can help with symptoms of arthritic pain, back or neck pain, spinal disc problems, sciatica, joint stiffness, shoulder pain, frozen shoulder, muscular strains, ligament sprains, postural problems, sports injuries, headaches jaw pain and more.
Cranial Osteopathy is very gentle, non invasive and can benefit people of all ages including new born babies, children and pregnant women. Very specific, skilled, light pressure is applied where necessary to assist the natural ability of the body to release stresses and tensions. When osteopaths examine babies areas of tension are often found in the spine or head which are indications that the baby is uncomfortable. A baby cannot complain of backache or headache, and will typically express this by crying and being unsettled or irritable. In a research study conducted by Clive Hayden into the effects of cranial osteopathic treatment on babies, some parents perceived the following changes in their children’s behaviour: reduced colicky crying, improved sleep, less unsettled irritable behaviour and increased quiet happy spells.

Shiatsu
• Therapist who provides this service: Aruna Khatri
Shiatsu is a traditional Japanese bodywork therapy and has it original roots in Chinese medicine. It is a hands-on method that uses finger and palm pressure to various points on the surface of the body. Energy channels or meridians throughout the body become blocked by a build up of stress in our daily lives. This situation can give rise to various symptoms and a sense of unease, which if left untreated, may lead to more serious conditions.
Shiatsu therapy triggers self healing which in turn promotes and maintains good health. It strengthens the immune system which promotes one’s energy levels and creates a general feeling of well-being. It is effective in helping a wide range of stress related problems and chronic conditions.
Many conditions can successfully be treated using Shiatsu including backache, headaches, migraines, joint pain, stress, tension and menstrual problems. The therapy improves posture, creates body awareness and strengthens body, mind and spirit.
Shiatsu is applied through clothes. Please try and avoid eating for two hours before the treatment.
